Welcome to my first blog post. I’m Emily and I am currently writing my first novel.
Most of you who are visiting this blog are here because you love fantasy which will most probably mean you will have heard of one of the top authors around J.K Rowling. If you have had the pleasure of reading one of her books you may have heard about her play that is now out in a theatre in London. Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.
Now this post isn’t about revealing any spoilers as I want to #keepthesecrets but I couldn’t let the opportunity pass by, by not telling how wonderful it was. If you are a fan of Harry Potter you have probably already seen the play or at least got tickets to see it soon. But if you haven’t yet decided read on.
First of all I have to commend the acting, this was the first time I have seen a play at the Palace Theatre but as I expected the actors were professional and brilliant. The acting by all the cast had me on my toes and on many occasions had me laughing out loud one minute and jumping out of my seats the next.
There wasn’t one weak link with the cast and they captured the essence of the characters so well. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen the films, as the play even though there are many points in the play that a fan will notice. For non fans it is a perfect play just as a stand alone.
Besides the acting, and costumes the one thing that blew me away was the magic. There were parts of the play when I was on the edge of my seat wondering how on earth they managed to do the magic without it feeling like just some clever trick. That is one of my favourite things in fantasy besides dragons, I love dragons 🙂 is the magic. The crew behind in making sure it felt real did a great job.
If you haven’t seen the play yet I would recommend you visit soon.
Have you seen it? Let me know what you thought. Did you enjoy it as much as me.
